Tea cup and saucer by Booths of England in a deep cobalt blue background color with hand painted exotic birds bordered in gold foliate designs. The underside of both is marked, "Gillman Collamore", a New York based retailer to the elite; Gillman's Fifth Avenue address of the former Willbraham building places the date of these pieces in the early decades of the 20th century. According to another eBayer, the "Scale Blue" is Booths' most highly prized pattern, an early 20t...h century reproduction of the famous Worcester blue glaze featuring vignettes with exquisitely hand-painted birds and flowers. Condition: The tea cup is clean in the interior and the exterior shows some foxing in the white medallions where the birds are painted. The saucer has one area of foxing and a hairline crack visible from the underside. Gold paint is in great condition, and colors are bright.
