The item for sale is a reclaimed brass sign which due to its age and use is being sold as seen so please study the photos as they form part of the description and to satisfy yourself what you will be receiving.The sign does have some wear, scuffs and scrapes, Verdigris etc - see photos.If my information is correct the Grieve, s X.L. No.2 was a circular knitting machine for socks - the original X.L was made in 1902 and going by an advert the No.2 model was in use in 1921 and by that tim...e the company had sold 5000 models.This is 86mm wide by 65mm tall and 4mm thick - all measurements approx. - weighs approx. 130g unwrapped.There is no makers mark I can see to the back but is marked to the front - Grieve, s X.;.No.2 - T.Grieves & Co - Leicester Engd - Patent.Will be posted using a cardboard box.
