A superb genuine ancient Norman bronze shield ring. The ring was heavily encrusted and had the remains of some iron fused to it. Cleaning revealed a deeply carved cross on the bezel. I have not polished out the scratches/carving marks that can be seen in and around the cross engraving, as i felt these show the personalisation of the artefact and are part of its history, and I didnt want to change the shape of the engraving, as polishing the cross shape may have done. Wearable.
