I am pleased to offering this Antique rare find German Black Forest Hand Carved Wood figure, signed at platform Alois Futterer Mittenwald Obb. It is a man with a lantern in his hand and a long ax supported by his inner arm. He has his hand cuffed to the side of this mouth as he is calling out. Possibly the town crier of the village. He is dressed in an overcoat, cape and scarf along with a hat upon his head.
He is 7 1/2" tall, the base... is 2" x 2 1/2". The details are remarkable and realistic. I can't find much about the woodcarver, He could be one from Anri. This is a wonderful example of fine word working skills.
There is slight damage to his pinky a chip at the end, otherwise he is good. I will be offering some other Black Forest Figures.
