Whatan Amazing Find, a time capsule, a blast from the past.Youare bidding on a VERY RAREComplete Aurora ¼” O Gauge Scale, Super Model Motoring Figure “8” Racing Set.Set #1704Thisis a USED SET. All parts are in their original boxes including the shippingbox. It was originally purchased from the Montgomery Ward Catalog SalesDepartment. The Aurora Set Box has a shipping Dock Claim Check Sticker on itDated “Rec. Nov.7, 1964” (SEEPHOTO). I purchased it from a Yard Saleand s...tored it for over 35 years. It does show some of the normal wear of a 56year old toy, and is in very good condition considering its age. The Handcontrols, Transformer, and Cars have been tested and are in working order;however I would suggest a good cleaning for all. I have listed all partsincluded in this set. There are a few extra track pieces which I have listedseparately that are also included in this auction.Thisis one of the most complete sets I have ever seen.Thecondition of each car is as follows:BothCars are in their original boxes that came with the set.57Chevy “Stocker” #1754is in good condition. It is Grey Plastic with some of the original decals, Chrome on the back bumper is virtually gone exposing the black plastic underthe chrome. On the left side of the rear bumper piece, the top of the fin isbroken off (SEE PHOTO). At some point in the history of this set someone cutthe rear quarter panel, wheel wells to fit a pair of slicks. Over time therubber has hardened and now tire spins freely on the wheels. The bad fit between the tire and wheel is causing the car not to move. The motor runs wellbut would suggest a good cleaning. The original smaller tires were saved andincluded but they are also very hard…Not much good ! Replacing the tires would be suggested49“Merc” Rod #1755is in excellent condition. It is Yellow Plastic with some of the originaldecals, Chrome is in very good condition. An overall beautiful car. Motor doesrun but I would suggest a good cleaning. Rubber tires are also hard but stillwork. Car runs and moves well.
