This is the Original Aurora #1387 THUNDERBIKE in BLUE in OUTSTANDING condition. Body, head and chassis are Original to this guy. Blue is one of the more sought after color combos of this bike. VERY FEW, if any, chips in the paint anywhere and the head has Never been off the body. This one is just out of my shop after receiving a total teardown and rebuild. Getting pretty good at rebuilding these guys. I acquired 2 of these from an estate in Virginia and they came with a sad story. Prev...ious owner purchased the 2 (1 red, 1 blue) brand new in 1967. He was an older teenager and was drafted shortly thereafter. These 2 bikes were very seldom used, which is why they are in such excellent condition. They had been stored in the garage since 1968. I only replaced the dried out tires and then cleaned, polished and oiled her up and off she went. I replaced NOTHING but the tires. Even the original brushes looked like new. Front wheel is the original yellow version but I will supply a chrome version also. I like the look of the chrome wheel on the blue better. She actually runs very well (for a Thunderbike). She is built like I do all my Tjets, As correct as possible, right down to the matching color pieces. Body and chassis are extremely nice. Special Note: These are collectible but not really meant for racing. Very difficult to try to corner. This is normal for this strange Aurora idea. NOT the easiest vehicle to work on. Also recently discovered a way to remake the original tires for thunderbikes. Tires are the most needed part for these. This guy runs beautifully on the track now. At this time, because the mail is slow, I don't have a box for her. Still waiting on 1. But I do have the Original Papers from 1967 which will be included.
