Rare, Vintage US Divers DX OverPressure Double Hose Scuba Regulator EXC
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:405373 |
The HP valve was refurbished. The bore of the valve and the orifice are excellent. A new pin o-ring was installed, and any min...or parts replaced as necessary. The sintered filter was cleaned in a sonic cleaning unit. A NOS HP seat, main diaphragm, and body gasket have been installed. The original duckbill exhaust valve is long gone, but a new silicone DA duckbill takes its place.
The hoseloop consists of the original DX hoses, which are in amazing, excellent condition, and an excellent OEM Kleer E-Z straight mouthpiece with OEM wagonwheels and new silicone non-return valves. This is the correct hoseloop for the O-P/Mistral conversion. The hoses are slightly marred by use of incorrect hose clamps, but original, correct clamps have been installed. A new reproduction case ring holds it all together, but original box clips will be included. The case clamp is a major upgrade which makes it much easier to clean, inspect, and adjust. This regulator is dive-ready. I would take it into open water w/o hesitation.
Please expect some locker rash from over 50 years of use and storage. There are some minor scrapes and dings, but the regulator looks great. Chrome is conservatively VVG inside and out. There is very minor chrome loss, but it will not affect performance. . The label has minor paint loss, but could be touched up. With good post-dive maintenance practices, this regulator will last another 60 years.
This regulator is a legendary model which is considered to be one of, if not the best, breathing and most reliable double hose regulators ever made.
Note: the auction includes only the regulator and hoseloop. No other items, although pictured for display purposes, are included.
