• Condition: All four have some roughness on the inner rim, common to the design. The balance is free of chips, cracks and fleabites including the feet which are frequently chipped and nicked from stacking. There ar...e no notable marks The pressing is very good with all the points complete. The glass is clear with a slight green glow under UV light.
• Detailed Description:This listing is for four (4) Antique, Octagon Footed Open Salt Cellars or Dips. The pattern is usually attributed to Central with the design appearing in catalogs and advertisements as early as 1876, though a few companies created nearly identical open salts including Adams. The pattern features an octagonal rectangle with four feet. The underside has are 4 bars on the long side and 2 on the short side creating 8 squares in the center where they intersect. It's a nice pattern of Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) and will make a great addition to any open salt collection.
