A very rare find!Excellent condition in/out; removed after decades in safe (smoke-free) storage:Cedar wood Peerless brand (Library index card) Tray Box No. 7310-C with its original unused "Remington Brand Library Bureau Department Branches Everywhere Catalog No. 4331-25" alphabetized 3" x 5" (blank unlined) index cards. Item is ca. late 1940's-1950's; the librarian would hand type the information details, etc. onto each card individually.As it's a library file card box, it opens f...rom the front (as shown in photo). It measures 10" in length x 5 1/2" in width x 4 1/4" in height. This well manufactured solid cedar wood box remains in very impressive condition (no cracks, chips, breaks, etc.) for its age; all of the cards remain untouched! The inner tray-adjustable hardware-slide works perfectly and locks in place perfectly. The box's alignment is perfect; henceforth it opens/closes perfectly; the hinges are structurally sound, as new!View all photos.
