Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:408828 |
Model No. A-2454, made by Clay-Adams, Inc. New York 10, N. Y. Inside the original box is a three tube rack with a grey crinkle finish cast iron base and chrome plated upright. On the base of the rack is the imprint "15 A-2454-11-3". Each slot is to hold a Wintrobe tube that is graduated 0-10 to hold 100mm of blood for analysis. Inside this box for sale are a total of 12 tubes from different producers. There are 3 tubes labeled "Kimax - 51", 4 labeled "Pyrex Made in the U.S.A", 3 labeled "Aloe USA" and 2 labeled "FXAX USA". Each tube is 110mm long, with a 2.5mm inner bore with a flat inner base. There is also a special tool to dispense the samples into the long thin tubes. Bubbles in a sample would disrupt the sedimentation rate so a special vacuum operated device was used to carefully fill the tubes.
After the blood was added with an anti-coagulant, the tubes would be left still for one hour and then analyzed based on separation. Another option was to centrifuge the tubes for 30mins and then analyzed. Also inside this box is two centrifuge sleeves used to adapt the small tubes to larger centrifuges.
