American Character A. C. Vintage Doll 20 " Sweet Sue Purple Outfit
Item History & Price
1. She is an early 1950s "Sweet Sue" doll, made by the American Character doll company (hence: the initials "A.C." on the back of her head).
2. Her shoes & pink undies are original to her.
3. She originally came wearing the long pink gown with the pink lace on top that is in your "Lot of 4" listing with bridal accessories.
4. Underneath that pink gown, she originally wore the pink net slip with the wire hoop that is included in your other "Lot of 5" listing of bridal dresses. It was, indeed, the hoop slip that came with this doll under her original long pink lace-topped gown.
5. Your Charles of the Ritz "Sweet Sue chignon" may have also come with this doll. Those chignons & instructions came with many of these Sweet Sue dolls that were wearing formal gowns.
I have to add that the smell is pretty bad. I guess due to the age of the dolls... You will want to wash the clothes. I put each of my items in an individual bag over the week and they smell like throw up. I wanted to update you on that. When I first bought them, they were on display and I did not smell an odor, but when wrapped, they smell. If you want me to put a scented dryer sheet with them when they are shipped, just let me know. I understand if you back out. If you win a bid and don't want the item, I will just cancel it upon request. Thanks.
