1942 NEWSPAPER PAPER DOLL & BED "PAPER PLAYHOUSE"I have been working on liquidating my late sisters collections and many of you who have luckily been following my listings. In this auction is a NEWSPAPER PAPER DOLL & BED TITLED 'PAPER PLAYHOUSE'. On the reverse side of this paper doll is another comic strip "ALLEY OOP" that is how I know this is an ORIGINAL and not a reproduction. This is a rather large portion of the newspaper and looks like it would ha...ve taken up one-half of a page. This piece measures 15 by 10 3/4 inches. The unnamed paper doll is 4 1/2 inches tall and has an attached stand. Besides the Baby Bed to construct the doll also comes with 2 Cute little Dresses, a Night Gown, an Over Coat and Matching Hat, and a Romper. If you notice at the bottom right hand corner is a reminder to help the war effort by buying Savings Bonds and Stamps. Even in the 1950's I can remember buying the stamps to paste into a book and once the book was full you would then get a $25 Savings Bond. This paper doll and playhouse was created by G.P. Ropers on May 3, 1942. This does have a small tear at the bottom edge border.
