Original Antique 1896 - 1898 Royal Bavarian 4th Infantry - ARMORIAL Regimental Stein
Centerpiece is an elegant, superbly-detailed, hand-painted depiction of the Bavarian Royal Family's coat of arms (including a rarely seen white & pink ermine coronation robe)
The Royal Bavarian 4th Infantry was garrisoned at Metz during the 1896-1898 time period.
Stein stands 10" tall (measured from the base to the top of the Bavarian Lion finial).
Still in Excellent Condit...ion considering this stein is more than 100 years old. No chips; No cracks; No repairs. Normal surface wear. See detailed photos provided for condition assessment.
Acquired from the Estate of Ambassador Hugh Montgomery (1923-2017) of McLean, Virginia. Montgomery was a decorated OSS commando who served in Europe during WWII; was one of the 'founding fathers' of the CIA (having served with the Agency for more than 63 years) as well as a Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations.
