Description ... Here is an original March 1968 VINTAGE (The serial number is CD) ladies Schwinn STARLET III beach cruiser bicycle with 26" wheels. It is in the original and very appealing CAMPUS GREEN colored factory paint. The chrome really sets it off! People LOVE this color combination and you RARELY see it in any condition! If you like UNIQUE nice looking unrestored original bikes, this may be a great bike for you. With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike! *This bike has a cool original design ladies frame and forks with original paint and decals, factory frame mounted horn TANK with horn inside, (untested) original Schwinn Starlet III chainguard, Schwinn cruiser style seat, wide cruiser handlebars, Schwinn hand grips, full fenders, front carrier rack, REAR carrier rack with jewels, (one broken) and more! I believe this bike to be basically ALL ORIGINAL PARTS from when it was new! (see pics and be your own judge)
*The tires are 26x2.125". They are vintage Schwinn Superior WHITEWALL tires and do hold air. The rear is a Schwinn tire. The bike has chrome Schwinn S7 rims front and rear with a Bendix rear hub.*I BELIEVE this bike to be mostly all original parts from when it was new. (see pics and be your own judge) This is so cool to find a top of the line DELUXE ladies bicycle from 1968. Many of these were "parted out" for the valuable hard to find parts and used on mens bikes! (Jaguar, Panther, etc) I hope someone out there appreciates this one for what it is!
*The bike is an original SINGLE SPEED with coaster brakes. (pedal slightly backwards to stop the bike)
*DIMENSIONS: The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 28". The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 18 3/4". The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 21 3/4". The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust.
*NOTED FLAWS It is not 100% flawless but is respectable for its age. The paint looks relatively good for a 50+ year old bike! (has chips scratches etc but has survived better than many) The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to). Overall a super cool ride! Turn some heads with this one! You rarely see these. If you click on any of the pics they get very large to show lots of detail. Please take a look at all pics for exact condition and email with any questions before you bid. *IN MY OPINION, this particular style bike is one of the MOST BEAUTIFUL looking ladies middleweight bikes EVER made by Schwinn! (Check out the pics and be your own judge) This one has so much WOW factor when you look at it! Bikes like this simply do not come along and I hope you absolutely LOVE IT whether you ride it or simply display it. This one is a REAL head turner!
*This appears to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted. A great bike to ride on relaxing days through the park or to the beach. Also would be a nice item to display in a shop, restaurant, rec room, sports bar, etc. Stand out from the crowd and be the envy of people who see you riding by.
