A rare & stunning Georgian Foiled Ruby & Diamond set Ring dating to c1800 (please see the detailed close-upphotographs provided, which form an integral part of the item's description).
This wonderful Antique Ring, which weighs 2.1 grams, has a Tapered Shank with fine Cast & Chased Floral & Foliate Decoration to the Shoulders. The focal point is the... beautiful Foil Backed Ruby & Rose-cut Diamond set Gallery, which measures approx' 14.0mm by 5.5mm - all in a Closed Back Setting to create a ring that is simply sublime.
Typical of the Period the ring is unmarked, but it is guaranteed to be made from solid Gold testing as 9ct Gold or higher. Overall the ring is in great condition with only age appropriate wear, as shown in the detailed photographs provided.
The ring is sized as a UK Ring Size 'M 1/2', which equates to a US Ring Size '6 1/2' - as with almost all antique rings the band is slightly out of shape (see photo) i.eit is not perfectly round and it measures slightly differently on the gaugedepending on how it is positioned, however this will not affect the ring whenworn.
