This is a punched copy of SPI's War of the Ring, published in 1977. The game is based on J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, the Mythical struggle between Sauron, the Dark Lord and the Peoples of Middle Earth. War of the Ring can be played as a Character game as the Fellowship of the Ring attempts to destroy the One Ring or as a Campaign Game involving the Armies of Middle Earth. This is the designer edition with mounted maps. The components are in excellent... condition. The rules booklet is crisp and clean. The charts and tables sheets are crisp and clean and still attached. The mounted maps are solid with bright colors. The punched counters are excellent condition, appearing almost new. The cards are excellent condition. The box is solid although there is edge wear and some fading.
