Limited edition 1991 Hamilton Collection plate: "Above the Canyon" by Ted Xaras. Estate item from my Mother's non-smoking home.Size: 8-1/4" (20.9 cm)Plate No. 2751C. Firing was limited to 14 days.Plate is from the "Golden Age of American Railroads" collection.Artist signed.23K gold rim; possible tiny bit of wear to gold (see pic #1 at 4 o'clock.)Decorative use only; not food safe.Protected in tissue and original styrofoam packaging. Styrofoam was written on in permanent marker.Original... ad identifies the train as the Denver & Rio Grande's High Line, which "snaked its way from Durango to Silverton, clinging to ledges on Colorado's red granite cliffs-one of the most scenic-and famous-routes in North America's railroad network."
