This original Stanley miter box "T" base assembly is in Good Plus condition with no issues. It includes the "T" base, insert, long locking screw, 2 pointed micro-adjusting screws, and large fixing screw. The last 3 photos show 2 different complete Stanley miter boxes (No. 358 as a demonstration) but this assembly will work with other Stanley models as well. This one was donated from... a No. 358. Dimensions are 1.4" wide x 1.2" front to back (not including screw heads on the front) x 2" tall. The "T" base is no. 124 in the diagram photo. This is the base that the front 2 uprights for the miter box screw into. The large screw on the bottom fixes it to the swivel arm from underneath. The long screw tightens everything together. The two smaller pointed screws allow the user to make micro-adjustments to the angle of the uprights to dial in a perfect 90 degree plum cut. This one is stamped with an "F" indicating it is for the front assembly, but the back assembly is identical, so this can be used on either side. There is some patina, but it is very clean with no rust or pitting. Most of the finish remains as well. A nice replacement for a damaged or missing part! ALL inventory is stored in an environment where climate and humidity are controlled to ensure each item is received in the same condition in which it is presented in the listing. Unless otherwise noted in the listing, photos are of the exact item you will receive. Every single item is listed and packaged by myself and I take pride in carefully packaging all items, regardless of purchase amount. When applicable, I try to grade the condition of every tool and part objectively using John Walter's grading system from his "Antique & Collectible Stanley Tools" price guide as described below. This is not necessarily an industry standard for grading, and grading vocabulary will vary from collector to collector since there is some subjectivity involved (i.e. "mint" vs. "near mint"). For these reasons, I will also try to list a description of these grades in each listing in order to clarify the grade given to each item. Please refer to the details below and read the "condition" portion of this listing for the condition grading assigned to this item.
MINT: 100% of original finish remaining. No signs of wear or rust - probably never used. No problems or issues.
EXCELLENT: 95-99% of original finish remaining. Very slight wear with no rust. No problems or issues.
GOOD PLUS: 85-95% of original finish remaining. Used but well maintained. Scuffs, light wear, very little rust.
GOOD: 65-85% of original finish remaining. Moderate wear and/or rust. Minor deficiencies - owner's initials, nicks, etc.
GOOD MINUS: 50-65% of original finish remaining. Has seen hard use, but remains serviceable. Scratches, nicks, dents, cracks, chips, improper replacement parts.
FAIR: 25-50% of original finish remaining. Heavy wear and rust. Some parts are broken, missing, or improper - serious flaws.
POOR: 0-25% of original finish remaining. Pitted, abused, heavily worn. Serious damage and missing major parts.
