You are bidding on one as-is Sargent Number 107 wood block plane as pictured. It has some condition issues, including a cracked cap, so please keep reading.It is marked "SARGENT VBM No 107 NEW HAVEN CT USA" on the iron. The body is unmarked. VBM stood for Very Best Made. Overall length of the body is about 7-3/16", and the iron is about 1-5/8" in width at the lower end. The cap has a crack as shown in the last picture. That crack goes all the way through that half o...f the cap. And the body and cap have been repainted.One edge of the sole and the upper edge of the left side have some file marks (???), and the little knob looks original but shows some wear. The iron has a few scratches and a few little spots of pitting. Except for the cap, there are no cracks or chips or chunks missing from any of the castings, and everything else operates properly.
