THIS LOT IS A GORGEOUS FINE QUALITY GORHAM PARCEL GILT STERLING EGYPTIAN REVIVAL THREE PIECE TEA SET MADE IN 1874. THIS SET FEATURES GILT FIGURAL SPHINX PERCHED ON THE HANDLES AND PHAROH HEAD FINIALS ON THE LIDS AS WELL AS WINGED LION FEET. IT IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH A FANTASTIC ORIGINAL PATINA AND HAS NEVER BEEN MONOGRAMMED, EVEN THE ORIGINAL GOLD IS VERY STRONG. THE POT MEASURES 9 1/2" TALL X 10 1/2" WIDE AND WEIGHS 34.5 TROY OUNCES, SUGAR BOWL IS 7 1/4" TALL... X 8 1/4" WIDE, WEIGHS 19.9 TTROY OUNCES AND THE CREAMER IS 5 1/4" TALL X 5 5/8" WIDE AND WEIGHS 10.15 TROY OUNCES, TOTAL WEIGHT FOR THE THREE PIECES IS 64.5 TROY OUNCES. ALL THREE PIECES HAVE THE GORHAM MARKS, STERLING, 572 AS WELL AS THE "G" DATE LETTER FOR 1874.
