This is one of the only pieces of circulating German paper money to show a WW1 German soldier wearing what was then a radical innovation - the steel helmet. It was Issued in 1919 by the town of Duren in Rhine Westphalia. The front is shown in the scans. The reverse shows the town's watchtower flanked by 10's.
