Very rare and original, 1864 George McClellan / George Pendleton, Illustrated National Democratic Party Presidential Election Ballot from the State of Connecticut.
This original, 1864 Presidential Campaign Ballot measures approx. 4 1/2" by4 3/4" and is printed in black ink on a porous paper stock. Text at the top of the Ballot reads “Democratic Ticket”. Below this text there is an illustration of a spread wing eagle perched on an American Flag with a rib...bon banner in its beak that reads “The Union – It Must Be Preserved”. Although the names of McClellan and Pendleton do not appear on the Ballot, text below the illustration reads “For Presidential Electors” followed by the names of the 1864 National Democratic Party Electors from the State of Connecticut. All text on the Ballot is printed in black ink.
This very rare and very attractive, 1864 Presidential Campaign Ballot is in very good condition with some light foxing and edge wear. Please see the scans below for a good indication of the form and condition of this original 1864 Democratic Party Presidential Election Ballot.
