Anthropomorphic Vintage 1930-40s Ceramic Hand Painted Smiling Face Cup Description: This friendly, whimsical cup with its wry expression and twinkling blue eyes is hand painted and was likely made in the US in the 1930s-40s. It has no markings but is quite similar to cookie jars of that period in glaze technique and craquelure aging. We bought it in the 80s and have displayed it only, but it is certainly usable for say… a hot coffee or whiskey drink? Cheers!
