This is a beautiful brass combination padlock made by ROCHESTER SAFETY LOCK CO. of Indiana. I believe it was designed in the early 1900s for automobiles. This example has a beautiful, even brass patina, and has a nice heavy weight. Well marked. It is the medium size measuring 2" x 2" x 1 1/4". I displayed the patent drawing for anyone who's interested. It works very smoothly with the combination, however please note that the steel pointer has broken off a piece. It still serves its pur...pose and does not impact the functioning of the lock. I've seen several of this lock where the pointer is missing completely. Ex-Bob Heilemann collection.
