RARE VINTAGE MIRACLE LOCK PADLOCK AND KEY - US Military
MARKED INGERSOLL Miracle Lock Company. This lock was manufactured 1968/1969 as this was the only year this particular lock was manufactured. It features the Ingersoll 10-Lever cylinder manufactured in the UK by Ingersoll, inside the US manufactured housing made by Miracle Lock.

A bit of history on the US Military Miracle Lock:In 1968 the US military was looking for high security padlocks to secure ammunition. Not having success, the Ingersoll company was contracted to deliver the 10-Lever cylinder to the military from England. The US based Miracle Lock Company then manufactured the complete lock, with Ingersoll's cylinders. By 1969, Miracle Lock stopped paying Ingersoll, and production of these locks seized.
Soon after a second generation using the cylinders of a Finland based company were used (not the model for sale here, this is a first generation model) - but quality control was poor and Miracle Lock Company lost their military contract.
Condition:The lock is in excellent working condition, with very little wear. No rust. Original Key.
