Still sharp to the touch, this draw knife is still in very good useable condition. There is some paint loss on the handles. The handles are tight to the shave. The origins of the old Winsted mill date back to c1852, when an organization that had been manufacturing edged implements since 1829, The Winsted Edge Tool Works, located to the site. Utilizing the Highland Stream and the Mad River to generate the power necessary to turn their machines, the company became prolific in the product...ion of edged tools, selling them both nationally and abroad. The tool quality was exceptional and The Winsted Edge Tool Works enjoyed a very high reputation among users for over 100 years. This is one of those limited finds!
