This listing is for a rare antique small brass self-locking J Whittingham 0 Brooklyn E.D. Spring Padlock & key. Through a Brooklyn Register (link included) it is shown that John Whittingham and son was a registered vault and lock maker in the 1880's. The E.D. stands for eastern district which was used prior to the boroughs joining together at the end of the 19th century.As you can see there is a dent on the front of the lock and the guide pin for the key is missing.The padlock is s...till operational and works just fine.
