Lawrence Bethel was a prolific fish decoy carver from Lake George, MN, part of a family of decoy makers. Lawrence had a great attention to detail and also consistency over time on his different types of fish. He would make one type of fish in difference sizes and slight variations. He was master carver, and his fish swim beautifully. They are true working fish decoys! I purchased it from Lawrence in his shop is Lake George several years ago. It has been in... storage since then.
This decoy is one of his mini 4" decoys. This rainbow trout is beautifully painted, has a carved tail and metal fins, Lawrence stamped his fish with a B in the lead cavity, I had him sign this one also when I bought it.
