Ulysse Nardin Marine Chronometer, Rare smaller type.Number 5863, all matching serial numbers box and works.Chronometer made in 1943, this information from Tony Mercer's Chronometers Makers of the World.Stamped on works: "Ulysse Nardin Swiss Watch and Chronometer Corp of America"This chronometer was made in Switzerland for the United States Navy in WW IISpring detent escapement.Excellent condition.Chronometer runs very strong and keeps good time, within 1 second per day.Measuremen...t of wood box: 5 7/8 " wide, 5 7/8 " deep, and 5 5/8" tall.Outside diameter of bezel: 3 1/2" Can be shipped outside of USA, please ask for a shipping estimate.
For shipping I will be corking balance wheel, removing chronometer from box, wrap in many
layers of bubble wrap and ship in a very large 14" x 14" x 14" heavy duty box to provide plenty of cushion.
I have shipped over 50 chronometers with 100% no damage results.
