Kestner: Extreemly Rare 6 3/4” Wrestler, with jointed knees. An amazing star in any collection. Extremely rare and fabulous, all bisque doll made in the late 1800’s. “The Wrestler” nickname came from collectors because the arms extend so far from her body and her thighs and calves are very generous. This little Kestner has outstanding modeling detail with molded breasts, waist, navel, rounded stomach, shoulder blades, and buttocks with two dimples. Each of her arms are differen...tly modeled with the left hand clenched and the right one cupped - a rare feature. Fabulous legs with jointed knees are the second and even more rare detail. Her boots are blue with tan souls, five black straps and painted lace socks. Her neck swivels with dainty facial features exquisitely detailed to include ears, tiny sleep eyes, lightly painted lashes, eye brows, lips and cheeks. Her maker mark is the number 1 in the center back of head (under her wig), also in the neck area of her upper back, and also in the upper part of each knee joint. I believe she is in her original clothes and wig, each seem aged and appropriate. There is something in a small part of the back of her hair, possibly glue that mades it stiff but doesn’t change the color. Condition is "Used" and Fine to Very Fine. No cracks. One small paint chip on the black inside heel of the right boot. She does need restringing. Shipped with USPS First Class.
