Rare Vintage Microcomputer Commodore MOS KIM-1 with User Manuals and Schematic.

The KIM-1, short for Keyboard Input Monitor, was a small 6502-based single board computer developed and produced by MOS Technology Inc. and launched in 1976. There is a ton of history and other info on the web.The KIM-1 was one of the first single board computers, needing only an external power supply to enable its use as a stand-alone experimental computer. This fact, plus the relatively low cost of... getting started, made it quite popular with hobbyists through the late 1970s.The KIM-1 consisted of a single printed circuit board with all the components on one side including an on-board 24-keykeypad and rubber feet on the flip side. The KIM-1 was introduced in the April1976 issue of Byte magazine.Original paper documentation included is:Kim-1 User ManualMOS Hardware ManualMOS Programming ManualKim-1 large-scale schematicI bought it 20 years ago. Have not used it so I can't guarantee anything, but here is what the guy said who owned it before me:"I plugged the supply onto the KIM application connector, pushed RS (Reset), got a display(which means that a lot of things are working), then ran a few programs and determined that all was well.  The first thing I always do is load the first four or so addresses with data such as AA, BB, CC, DD, etc., in address 00, 01, 02, 03, etc., then check to see if the data remains.   Also, look up the clock addresses and load them to see the displayed timing changes. Regarding the PA1-7 connection, the Ports are SW controllable to be either outputs or inputs, so any  bit from 0 through 7 could be wired to a speaker, although I usually drive a transistor with a speaker load and a large base resistor.  However, you can do a lot of interesting programming before using the I/O ports"
