This is a most ultra rare antique French black bisque head doll. She measures 24 inches and I will describe as best as I can. The back of the head is marked--Paris Bebe, Tete Dep CC, 11. The bisque head has a crack down the front of the forehead to the bridge of her nose. There is a scratch line in the bisque about 1 inch long on the back left side of the head. I do not think it is a crack. Her brown glass eyes are stationary and original set. The mouth is open closed. She has pierced ...ears. She has her original cork pate. The body shows normal wear with a few small glaze/paint chips near the joints. The body is strung well, and she holds poses. There are tiny pin holes on the body, and I do not know why. I see no repairs to the body. She wears her original leather shoes. I did not remove them, as the left one is attached by a few threads in the back heel area. So I left them alone. They are marked on the bottom, Rabery Paris, 3. I rarely find French dolls, and I have never seen in all my travels a black French doll. This comes from an advanced doll collector's estate from Indianapolis. They collected only the best of the best. I have a large old doll encyclopedia that only briefly mentions this doll. She would be a special addition to any antique collection out there. This doll will come with a replacement wig seen in the last photo. I keep a non pet, no smoking home, and am a speedy shipper!
