Rare and amazing XL chunky vintage modern chandelier from a Chicago estate - loaded with faceted crystal spheres which flash and shine with all the spectral colors. The body is about 28" wide by 27” high plus another 14" of chain, impressive in size but not too big for most installations. The bulk of the glass is comprised of hand blown and polished crystal rods, much like the Murano chandeliers from the Mid Century. Up top and forming the central column are a series of very long 1" ...thick glass rods. Around the top and for the main portion of the bottom are angled smaller glass rods. I have yet to see another chandelier with these style hanging prisms. The ceiling canopy still has a label but it is unreadable, but it is from the same home built in 1975 that my other listing for a Stilkronen modernist fixture is from as well. If you look at the Stilkronen piece in my other listing (or google it) you may see that it's possible they are made by the same company. So, although it's unknown who that manufacturer is, I know it's a superior quality piece with heavy fine quality crystal and a unique style and well made frame. It's brightly lit with 12 lights total and can lend a bold impact to any foyer, dining room, living room or anywhere you want to add some high glamour and drama. This one of the most unique chandeliers I have ever seen, with so many crystals loaded onto the frame - and take note- it's heavy! Probably 60 - 70 lbs. It is complete with nothing missing or troublesome. The crystals are decades old and have survived well with only minor wear - no cracks, large chips, and has nothing glaring, but upon inspection you realize it is older and perhaps there might be a flea bite here or there and some aging. Also, could use a better cleaning, like before you install it, give each crystal a good wipe down with windex. As you can see from the photos, it is handsome and ready for a new home, but I need to be thorough in my listing as it is not new, it is a 45 year old chandelier - but it's in really awesome complete condition and an original find. Might be a custom piece. I see nothing like it anywhere and originally thought it was a Schonbek due to its fine quality. This one has an unusual variety of prisms and really flamboyant presence! Gorgeous day or night. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Sold as shown and described. Shipping to the continental USA is $95.
