This is a wonderful earlier Navajo necklace that has recently come out of my mothers things, and has been stored for 25+ years.Great earlier necklace with a heavy cast Naja at the bottom, with a green oval Cerrillos Turquose cab, set at the top of the piece in a raised bezel. The turquoise has great matrix and a natural inclusion, sits tight in its setting, and poses no problem. The stone measures just shy of 5/8" long x just over 1/8" wide. The necklace itself measures... a total length of 31 (with a 15 1/2" drop), with the Naja measuring 3 1/8" long x 2 1/8" wide at the top. This extends the drop to a total of 18 1/2". The beads are a mix of lovely Navajo pearls and melon beads, and it has a hook and eye type closure. Unmarked, but tests to coin grade silver or higher, and the patina on the entire piece is very dark, from not having been touched or worn in years. It would be great shined up a bit, but I will leave that to the buyer.Condition is excellent vintage, wearable and very collectible, and comes from a smoke free environment.
