Very rare and wonderful, Massive ca1890 Cast Iron, Floor Train, Railroad Locomotive Engine and Tender manufactured by the Wilkins Toy Company of Keene, New Hampshire. This impressive, late 19th century, Cast Iron Railroad Floor Train Locomotive and Tender measures approx. 21” long overall. The Locomotive Engine measures 12 1/4” long, 4 3/4" tall and 3 1/4" wide. The Floor Train includes the original Locomotive Engine and the matching coal tender. The Tender features two, four wheel... trucks with stars between each of the pairs of wheels.
This large and very impressive, Wilkins Floor Train Locomotive Engine and Tender is very heavy and is a wonderful display piece!!
This very rare and original, Wilkins Cast Iron Railroad Floor Train Locomotive Engine and matching Tender is in very good condition. There are no breaks, chips, cracks, physical damage or repairs of any kind. The Locomotive Engine and Tender display nicely but appear to have had some surface repainting a very long time ago (mostly to the upper surface of the Engine).
While we have owned a number of 19th century Wilkins Floor Train Locomotive Engines over the past 39+ years, we have never before had the privilege of offering an example of this large and impressive Engine and Tender and believe it to be very rare!!
