The gift stone weight is not included in the combined weight. PLEASE READ ...ITEM DESCRIPTION BELOW BEFORE PURCHASE. This is some very unique material from the mountains of northern California. These are chunks of ‘Jelly Opal’ from a much larger petrified tree that turned partly to green and blue opal. Some sections of this material are a gorgeous translucent red to orange color when backlit. By definition, this qualifies this material as fire opal. Can be difficult to work around some of the fractures, but mostly this material holds together much better than expected. It takes a very nice polish and makes for some really beautiful and unique lapidary material for jewelry pendants, etc.. Wetting or polishing the stone will also cause colors to appear more vibrantly. Send a message if you have questions about lapidary properties or display use of these stones before purchase.
