Maria Sibylla Merian /1647-1717/ German born naturalist, well listed artist, etcher and printmaker. A fabulous original engraving with hand coloring. The original engraving has NO condition issue, considering the age see all pictures. From very small edition, a proof before lettering on the bottom the comes matted in a new acid free matte from German print dealer, label verso Another example on EBay is $3000, TRULY LOVELY PIECE. Measurements of the piece /plate mark/ 5 1/4"x 6 1/2" and... all matted out and framed app. 14" x13" AN INCREDIBLE PIECE !!
