MONOGRAM B-17G "A BIT O LACE" ORIGINAL MODEL BOX ART STUDIO PAINTING by NOTED ARTIST STU SHEPHERD. ARTIST SIGNED & DATED.This is a stunning fine art original painting in air-brush and acrylic on cold-press illustration board. This painting was custom made for a plastic model kit box cover by well known artist Stu Shepherd for Monogram Models co. Stu Shepherd was a very talented artist that painted many dramatic and accurate artwork subjects for Monogra...m and Revell Models throughout the 80's and 90's. The subject is a WWII B-17G flying in formation with 4 other aircraft from the 709th area squadron, 44 bomber group that was based in the UK around April 1945 just before the end of the war. The "Bit O Lace" had been damaged in a previous mission and had her wing and tail replaced from an older B-17 doner and the painting shows this repair accurately! The tones and colors with clouds are just amazing and have that sense of realism and movement when viewing! This painting is 15" X 30" overall size and mounted in a brand new metal frame and hardware with double archival mats and UV crystal clear acrylic. Archival foam core is in back with a vintage Monogram sticker. Painting is in EX condition with no fading or chipping and is still very vibrant, has incredible detail and colors and fantastic under lights as you can see in the photos! This painting as well as all others in my collection are guaranteed Vintage Original and Authentic. Please check back often for other vintage paintings I am listing over the next few months. Original paintings like this that are signed by a noted artist are few and now a much sought after item. Sadly, most of these paintings were destroyed throughout the years and are now collector items. I have had this painting stored in my collection for many years and now am downsizing so I am passing it along to someone else who will treasure it as I have. There are VERY few of these model paintings left as companies typically destroyed the original after print films were made. I have shown a picture of the actual model kit production box the painting was originally used for. The box top photo is not included in this listing and is for ref. only. This is a very rare opportunity for any serious aviation enthusiasts to add to his art collection with it's large gallery size. In very fine condition for it's 23+yr.(1996) age. Would look absolutely stunning in an office, den or hobby display room, gallery or a WWII themed collection.PLEASE NOTE:This Item will ship UPS ground professionally boxed with full insurance for fast safe delivery.
