What you are looking at is an iconic example of mid century design that was greatly influenced by the space race and the great interest in the Atomic Era. Manufactured by Dazor manufacturing in St. Louis in the mid 1950's. It is a brilliant highly maneuverable design that is both beautiful and functional. Model 2008 Metal & fiberglass shade (with perforated shield insert) rotates 360 degrees (as seen in Blade Runner - cast light up or down), height position maintained by frict...ion; gentle lift on the horizontal arm enables shade to be adjusted to desired height; letting go sets it in place, Finial unscrews to allow separation of lamp from base for transport, Romance of 1982 Deckard & Rachel piano scene from the movie Blade Runner attributes to the unique quality of this single light source. Warm light and position flexibility make it a favorite go-to prop for play/film/television set designers to this day - watch for it. I have enclosed a screen shot from the movie Blade Runner with the same lamp. Minimal wear with only a couple of small scratches on the base and light scratches here and there that are commensurate with a lamp of this vintage.(see photos) This particular model has some gold anodized details. This is the only lamp that I have seen with the gold on it. PICTURES SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS AND PROVIDE THE BEST DESCRIPTION!
