Vintage Estate Churchill 1499 Meer Lined 1/2 Bent Billiard Pipe - Well Made

I find no clear reference to the Churchill 1499 brand on the internet, but I have noticed a few others listed for sale. In any case, a fine Meer lined briar! About 5 1/4” long, bowl is 1 5/8” tall, 1 1/4” wide. ID 11/16”, depth 1 5/16”. Marked on side of shank CHURCHILL arched over 1499 with MEER-LINED arched under. ITALY is stamped across bottom of bit. No other marks detected.
Saddle bit is well-seated push fit, cleaned and polished, showing no bite wear. Stummel is dar...k reddish colored, variable grain, clean rim, meer lining with some scorch but fully intact. Otherwise only normal hand wear and patina of years. Beautiful compact design!
