This auction is for a Vintage Magnum wine coaster. It is marked on the bottom lip "I.F.S Ltd" with the hand and hammer mark. This mark was for Israel Freeman & Son. I believe this is a piece made after the 1920's in NYC. It has a Lion in the center of the wood base. The coaster is surrounded by flower, leaves and scrolls. The coaster measures approximately 8" diameter and 2" tall. It weighs 1 pound 8 ounces. Israel Freeman & Son began in London at the beginning of the 20...th century and moved to New York City in the 1920s. The company was still in business in NYC in 2006 and being run by a mother/daughter team. I believe it is brass. It is silver plated. It is tarnished and some flaking of the silver plate. The wood base looks good. There are supposed to be 4 pins around the base holding the wood. One pin is missing. This is an "As-Is" auction so please see all photos and feel free to ask questions.
