Very Nice Working Display Radio, 7 Transistor. 1955 Zenith Royal 500 "Hand Wired". Chassis# 7XT40Z1. Serial # is 24771. It will be difficult to find a nicer example of this desirable transistor radio.This radio retains it original luster and shine over the years. The case is in excellent condition. There are no chips or cracks (see pictures). The radio's case reflects light off it when in the sunlight. It has a luminous ...shine. This one is a very nice display model. I tried to show this in the pictures. The camera's reflection is shown in the radio's case.Runs on 4 "AA" batteries. Inside is clean and corrosion free. The radio works with medium volume across the AM band. It has a tendency to squeal on a close nearby station. It will need to be recapped. The top of this radio is in excellent shape; the swing handle is in good shape and locks into place (sides areas of handle in good shape). The grille area is in excellent shape with just a slight indentation. All lettering present and readable on both back and front. The carrying case is in great condition. Shoulder strap is present. Case is still soft no imperfections. Dimensions: 5 3/4" x 3 1/2" x 1 1/2". This is a very clean radio. Remember this radio was produced in 1955.Please email with any questions.
