PINK FLOYD PINK FLOYD Description Scarce and highly collectible original first printing concert poster advertising Pink Floyd at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund [Germany] from 13th to 19th February, 1981, presented by Marcel Avram and Marek Lieberberg’s MAMA Concerts. The concert tour to promote the release of The Wall included a modest 31 shows in four cities: Los Angels (7 s...hows), Uniondale (5), Dortmund (8) and London (11). The primary ‘tour’ consisted of 18 shows in L.A., Uniondale and London in 1980, but the band performed a further eight shows in Dortmund (13th–20th February, 1981) and five more shows at Earl’s Court (13th–17th June) for filming, with the intention of integrating the shows into the upcoming movie. Both David Gilmour and Nick Mason had attempted to convince Roger Waters to expand the show for a more lucrative, large-scale stadium tour, but because of the nature of the material (one of the primary themes is the distance between an artist and his audience) Waters balked at this. Please notice MAMA Concerts logo to the top left corner, which indicates this is an original !
The poster measures 59.2 x 83.7 cm (approx. 23.3 by 33 inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, matte-coated paper stock. In excellent unfolded and unmarked condition, ready to frame.
