Product Specification
Karl Blossfeldt (1865-1932) was a Germanphotographer celebrated for his pioneering close-upimages of plants and flora. Over three decades, Blossfeldt produced 6, 000 photographs, using a homemadecamera and lens that could magnify a subject by 30times, to capture the microcosmic aesthetic of hisspecimens. In 1928, the first of three ground-breakingportfolios was published under the over-arching titleUrformen der Kunst (Artforms in Nature). It became anovernight sensation. Each originalphotogravure print for sale comes from the Germanedition of Karl Blossfeldt's 'Urformen derKunst', printed in Germany in 1929. We have foundthis is the best quality of the three 1929 editions, German, English and French. They are beautifully printedand in very good condition, without foxing and on thehighest quality printing paper of the time - printed oneside only. Note: These 1929 edition prints are notto be confused with later editions which don't havethe same beautiful aesthetic print quality due todifferent publishers, paper and printing plates.
