Rance Hood___ Also note the original price tag sticker "$25.00", also by the ...artist's own hand. The picture is an exquisite example of the artist's unique talent, done in shades of blue. It is signed in the lower right corner. If you are not familiar with the artist, a famous native Oklahoman, there is a wealth of information about him on the Internet. The artist self matted his work by creating 1.5 inch border, and creating his art within the 11" x 8" (approx) remaining rectangle. The approx measurement of the entire piece is 14" x 11", and is done on a substantially thick paper, about the same thickness and weight of framing mat material, and that may well be exactly what it is. The picture was fronted by a non glare glass, and backed within the wood frame with regular card board. No doubt it was framed before acid free paper was recommended for art, and treated on glare glass discouraged. The tobacco smoke cleaned from the front of the glass does not seem to have gotten behind it. I couldn't find any references to this painting as having been made into prints or copies; the artist was not thinking that far in advance at the time, is my best guess. If the buyer wants the frame (the plastic strips that are silver colored have shrunk and separated at the corners), cardboard back and glass, I will be happy to send it, but want to greatly discourage them from actually using any of it. Have this treasure properly framed to conserve it's pristine beauty for many generations to come. Let me know if you have any questions. Check out the rest of my eclectic treasures that I have decided to rehome.NOTE: EVES TrilladaFind e.t.s.y.
