Here is a great looking Westinghouse radio in black Bakelite case and gold accents. Reminiscent of the pagoda type buildings of South East Asia, it has a clear plastic dome over the Saturn-like dial pointer. This radio is complete with original back.
This set has been recapped and out-of tolerance components replaced. It receives stations up and down the dial and works well and sounds well too. All mechanical aspects have been cleaned/lubed and the set aligned. There is a slight amo...unt of slippage in the dial-string when tuning that could be easily fixed, but still tunes so I haven't bothered to fix it since it was reassembled. The dial foil/paper around the dial has some light wear but as you can see for the most part not real noticeable. Lastly, there is a crack in the left rear edge of the case that starts on top and then continues down part of the side (see pics). It's not real noticeable so I have left it alone. In addition this radio has leads for an external antenna and ground on the rear if so desired to connect to a larger antenna.
Note: This is a near 80 year old radio with 80 year old components - not intended to be used for extended periods of time or as a daily player. I recommend 2 hour time intervals maximum when using vintage radios at no more than once per day, and always unplugging the set when not being used. Those are just my personal recommendations with any vintage electronics of this age.
