Up for sale is a used, opened, in Like New condition copy of the 2010 Shout Factory release of Mystery Science Theater 3000 Volume XVII (17) DVD. The discs have fingerprints, but don't affect playback, as they still play well. Unlike the Music CD format, the DVD format was designed to wit...hstand fingerprints affecting playback.
The MST3k Volume 17 DVD went out-of-print in 2017. Apparently, Shout Factory didn't renew the rights for The Final Sacrifice movie episode at that time. A real shame, as that episode is a fan-favorite. The set also includes The Crawling Eye episode, which was the first nationally-produced episode of MST3k, or pilot for the national audience.
Since than, it's becoming harder to acquire a copy of this particular MST3k DVD volume release. For reference, A used copy of this set recently sold on eBay for $226 plus shipping and A used copy of this set is selling for around $300 on Amazon currently.
You have to be careful when buying used or new copies of Shout Factory releases, as their are many sellers listing bootlegs that look a lot like the genuine product. Thankfully, I purchased this copy legitimately, hence they original stickers.
This set still contains the remnants of the original shrink wrap, including the official Shout Factory manufacturer sticker. In addition to the DVDs and cases, you also get the episode mini-posters. The Blood Waters of Dr. Z mini-poster is a little bent, but otherwise fine.
