An antique/vintage Russian handblown glass golden Christmas tree topper.It is in very good condition. It measures 9 1/2” .The gold is painted inside the glass. Some imperfections incolor density. It is hand painted with white dots and white 'borders'.The white paint is heavy and 'raised'. The opening on the bottom isirregular and not perfectly round. No chips or cracks.Bought by us in the 90's in the Russian countryside fairs.
Has been displayed by us every year, but since we... moved
to Fla. we had to cut down on our decorations But they are in good condition with little wear for the age. We decorated 7 trees every year.
Originally, Russian ornaments were symbols of good harvest, prosperity, health, a happy life, and the continuation of the family.
