Great addition to serious collectors of rare bricks, masonary and tiles. More information about antique bricks produced in the Northeast, Hudson River Valley, and New England can be found on the Hudson River brick collecting website. Before the age of steel, bricks were used everywhere in the Northeastern United States in buildings, piers, and foundations, and chimneys. Railroads and barges were able to move large amounts of bricks through out the Northeast and NY. The edges are broken and or are slightly rounded due to being exposed to ocean wave action. These bricks are estimated to be over 100 years old so it is amazing that a fired brick in a kiln has survived the harsh elements of the Newport RI harbor / ocean salt water. Your purchase will be carefully wrapped to prevent breakage and sent by USPS Media FLAT RATE.
