Rare Leica ELMARIT - R 135 Mm F 2. 8 ROM Lens W/Series VII Filter, OEM Caps
Item History & Price
Today you are bidding on one rare Leica telephoto lens in ROM version. The included items are listed below:
(1) Leica Elmarit-R 135 mm F 2.8 ROM lens (S.N. 2466736, made in Canada).
(2) Leica UVa filter lens (Series 7, made in Germany) with mount ring (Cat. #14161, made in Canada).
(3) Leica front lens cap (65 mm Cat. #14089M, made in Canada).
(4) Leica rear bayonet-mt cap (Cat. #14162J)
(5) Leica factory box with bottom pre-formed styrofoam insert (not the original box)....
Over the past 30 some years, I accumulated quite a few Leica R lenses, especially the early production with heavy metal body. Since I also own a legendary Leica R8 Digital Modul-R system, I purchased and used a few Leica-R expensive prime or zoom lenses. I finally decide to keep only three ROM version lenses and the rest of regular or ROM version R lenses have to go.
Cosmetically, this telephoto lens with ROM has been used with lots of brassing and little scratches on grooved focusing and aperture rings. Though the inscribed letters and numbers had lost some of original paints, none of them are missing completely. The barrel and built-in lens hood are quite clean with very little lines of scratches and rubbing marks. Both front and rear caps have some user signs especially the rear cap. Though the factory box is not original for the lens, it looks in excellent cosmetic condition with some peeling of red cover.
Mechanically, the focusing ring turns smoothly and the aperture rings clicks at every stop. The diaphragm blades open and close rapidly and all aperture openings look correctly though no bench tests to confirm the accuracy. The built-in front lens hood slides in and out smoothly and it stays in place firmly. Both front and rear lens caps mount firmly.
Optically, After shinning the front and rear lenses with a strong LED flash light from various angles, I did not see any defects such as wiping marks, scratches, haze, fungi, or balsam separation. However, like most of vintage lenses, I did see some tiny dust particles inside the lens system. This particular lens has much less dusts than some of my other lenses. The included series 7 UVa filter lens is also clean without issues.
The package will be sent to domestic buyer via USPS Priority Medium Flat Rate Box with delivery confirmation for $20.00. The invoice may include the state retail tax depending on where you reside. For international buyer, it will be handled via Global Shipping Program which had been proven to be cost effective and fast. You will receive an invoice directly from the manager of Global shipping Program at the end of auction. The invoice may include the custom duty of individual country. Paypal will be the only payment method. The package will only be sent to Paypal confirmed address. No exception.
Because this is a liquidation sale of more than 30 years of my collection, the return will only be allowed if the items are not as described or DOA (dead on arrival). In this case, the return label will be provided. No other returns will be honored. Sorry.
Thank you for your interest in my auction and good luck bidding.
